A friend inspired me to try blogging. She's new to it as well and I really admire her bravery. She's done things recently that she never thought were possible, and if I can try even a fraction of what she's done and doing, I'll consider myself a success.
Aside from the fact that I think I spend or waste enough time on computers, depending what I'm doing, I admit that before I even considered blogging, I had to wonder what I have to say that matters or that anyone will care to read. Or I just thought my life's not that interesting and I'll never be able to come up with things to write about. Well, I decided I'll never know unless I try and the worst that can happen is that I decide not to continue. I think my instincts will kick in as I go along and I'll know if this is right.
As far as coming up with things to write about, I'm not a confrontational person who likes debate, so what I post will be for information, entertainment, general knowledge and the like. I may say what I think to a degree, depending on the topic, but it will never be my intention to start "fires", nor do I want them started by others. Not only am I not confrontational, I think the world can be confrontational enough on its own these days. We are invited or take it upon ourselves to provide our opinions more than ever in this instant information age. Reality shows and other programs seem to exist and subsist based on confrontation as well. To each his own, but it's not for me.
I think most of my material will come from everyday life happenings, and the NaBloPoMo site prompts. My dad gave me a journal of his childhood, too. Each day for a year a topic is provided and you write about it. I think some ideas might develop from there. I'm looking forward to the process. Hopefully, the more I do this the more naturally thoughts will flow, and I hope the readers find what I have to say valuable and/or meaningful. Thanks for stopping by.
